- My Dear Col:-- Your favor to hand. It is of no use to discuss the question of what you would like to have had, as Mr. Johnson neve considered that he had parted with that stock, and did consider that the loan of $500. was amply repaid, both principal and interest by the proceeds ofth e 100 shares, and he accordingly settled for it himself, long since. Will the amount that you name make a clear bill for all the old andeluvian things and leave the party whom you are desirous of assisting free of all obligations to any one, as I suppose you mean by the statement?
