- Editor's Notes
- [typed] "You promised to call some time this week, but as you have not yet shown up, and I do not know positively when you will come, I thought it best to write you at once about a subject of considerable importance to me, viz: the question of Mr. Johnson's interest. You know I have been carrying it for several months, from the beginning up till now. Every time I tackle him on the question of when he will pay up, he says he is waiting for you to settle with him. ## I do not want you to think that I consider myself running any great risk in carrying Mr. Johnson's interest, for the property is increasing in value, but all things considered, I am entitled to know when he will pay, if not in whole at least in part. I would have no trouble in selling as much of Mr. Johnson's interest as I wanted to, at par and even above, as there are half a dozen parties who have been bothering me to get a foothoold.. . . . "
