- Editor's Notes
- I am disappointed at your not being here as I had hoped. ## There is something not right in the matter of the Phonograph settlement between you & Mr Johnson & as I am an interested party it is entitled to be closed up. ## You are entitled to receive with interest all EHJ owes you & he is entitled to his share of the proceeds of phonograph sale in which I still hve an interest. I understand the interest promised to Mr Johnson in the Bergmann Co is being sacrified piecemeal because it is nominally not paid for & this because the phonograph matter has never been settled. That business cost him the friendship of Edison, becausse he (EHJ) stood by you. The same lack of money in his own right has now conmpelled him to surrender the control of the Sprague interest through the manipulation of these offered to him. ## That a settlement between you & him would result in is not the question---but a settlement final & conclusive should be made---as further delay is without excuse. I feel I can say this without seeming to interfere with other peoples business because I have a resultilng interest myself.
