Hammer congratulating the Edisons on the engagement of their son Theodore and commenting on the Paris Universal Exposition of 1889. Also included is a draft letter from Mina Edison to Frank W. Collier of American University thanking him for his appreciative remarks about her father Lewis Miller and his contributions to the Chautauqua movement. A letter from John V. Miller to Farnham Yardley, Edison's neighbor in Llewellyn Park and member of the Park's Board of Managers, requests a permit for a sewer connection at Glenmont.
