These two letters from 1930 and 1931 are by illustrator and artist Lucius Wolcott Hitchcock (1868-1942), a brother-in-law of Grace Miller Hitchcock. The documents are signed "Lu." Included is an 18-page letter written on the occasion of Grace's sixtieth birthday party, which was attended by Edison, Mina Miller Edison, and industrialist Henry Ford. The letter consists primarily of reminiscences by Thomas A. Edison.
The letters are from Book #5 on the Charles Edison Fund microfilm. A few additional unselected letters by Lucius W. Hitchcock can be found in this book. Click here for a list of all the correspondence books on the CEF microfilm.
