These two documents are from February 1883 and November 1930. The first item is an article from the University Quarterly, written by Charles L. Bristol, a young biologist who worked briefly for Edison while a student in New York. It describes work going on at Menlo Park. The second document, from the E. E. Brown Papers, is a letter from Edison to Elmer Ellsworth Brown, chancellor of New York University, regarding Brown's receipt of an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. Edison comments that he also is "one of the small group . . . who have been recipients of a similar honor."
