The Colorado Midland Railway Co.,
C.H. Schlacks, Esq., Gen. Mgr.,
Denver, Colo.
Dear Sir:
We are in receipt of your favor of March 6th, advising us of the discontinuance of the phonoplex, as per contract with your company The reason that I have delayed answering your letter has been due to the fact that I wanted to get at our Mr. Logue, who had charge of the installation and endeavored to eliminate the troubles that were experienced subsequent thereto. I regret exceedingly that the phonoplex has not worked to your satisfaction and that you have decided to discontinue it as of Jan. 19th.
The fact that we have so many of them in operation all over the country and that they are used very generally by the Western Union Telegraph Co., would seem to indicate that there must be some radical trouble that our man has been unable to discover. However, we must of course abide by your decision, and, in accordance with your instructions, I enclose you herewith bill for the use of the phonoplex, as requested.
Yours very truly,
Vice Pres. & Gen. Mgr.
