- Title
- [D8148ZBZ], Letter from Joshua Franklin Bailey to Thomas Alva Edison, August 24th, 1881
- Editor's Notes
- Last week Gouraud & I cabled you re: proposition from the Consolidated Co. of London; this morning got your reply "European Telephone propositions approved." Copies sent to GG2 and Sir Julius Vogel, both in Paris. Yesterday signed memorandum of agreement as basis of contract to be drawn up. GG2 proposes me or Puskas to go on the board; will accept. Fear capital of consolidated co is not adequate; large manufacturing liabilities could lead to collapse of Euro Tel Co. Puskas will give you full account of negotiations since November which have led to memorandum.
