Title
[D8523ZBH], Letter from Harry Ward Leonard to Thomas Alva Edison, July 7th, 1885
Editor's Notes
[Letterhead of The Ohio Edison Electric Installation Co.] Writing to you again to find out whether you can secure for me a position of some kind in the line of electrical engineering. "The Ohio Co. is doing nothing to speak of, nor does it look much as though it will in the immediate future." I need something very quickly. I should like most any kind of work which will pay fairly for the present. "I don't doubt that the Central Station business will soon pick up again and that I will find plenty to do." If you know of anything, please keep me in mind, and I also ask the favor of you sending me a letter of recommendation "as far as you feel justified in doing." I am really in a bad fix from a financial standpoint and a letter from you recommending my services would be of great value to me.
