"We have an inquiry from South America in reference to the 'Edison' Ore Separator and would request you to give us the information asked for in the enclosed memorandum." Enclosure: "Edison Ore Separation ## 1st Cost of separator in American Gold ## 2nd Gross & Net weight of the machine with all its implements ## 3rd Capacity of the separator per hour for each size ## 4th How long the electric batteries last, how are they replaced cost of replacing & of the ingredients used ## 5th Detailed explanation of how to separate the gold falling into the electric magnet face is it done all by itself? is it necessary to wash the minerals? ## 6th If the separation is to be used in washers or mines or if it separates the dust quartz & other substances or if those must be pulverized ## 7th Detailed information & simplest explication on the use of the separation ## OVER ## The separator only separates gold from magnetic iron sand -- If the iron sand is mixed with quartz then gold & quartz will jam one side & the magnetic iron sand or the others = It is only useful when the gold is found in alluvial soil with large quantity of iron sand ## It requires a 3 horse power Engine & boilers a 3 horse power Dynamo & separator -- ## Cost Engine & Boiler (Baxter) $300 -- Dynamo $250 -- Separator $850 -- ## The same Engine & Dynamo will run 2 separators -- Each separator will separate 100 tons of iron sand in 10 hours."
