- [D8747AAS], Letter from Green River Zircon Mining Co, Hamilton Glover Ewart to Thomas Alva Edison, November 5th, 1887
- Editor's Notes
- "A party by the name of Hayden, to whom you had written is asking us for prices on Zircon. He desires to buy from us. ## We wold to W. E. Hidden 1000 this last week. [---] Hidden is now mining for zircons in Anderson S.C. but we feel pretty well assured he will pay well for all he gets [--]t. ## If you want zircons we feel assured it would be to your interest to deal with us. No other party in N.C. or else-where can fill orders except ourselves & if you will make prices satisfactory he will make exclusive arrangements with you. As to our standing we refer to Bradstreet's & if you think definite arrangements could be made I will come on & have a personal interview with you on the subject. Mr. Hidden informed me that the reason you had not replied to our letter was that he -- Hidden -- had offered you zircons at 25 cents. ## In case he did so he will never be able to comply with his contract, except at ruinous loss to himself. Other parties who write you offering zircons, except to purchase from us in a margin of profit. They cannot by except from us."
