Title

[FM001AAO], Letter from Jane Eliza Miller to Mina Miller (Mrs Thomas A.) Edison, May 20th, 1886

Editor's Notes

[Glenmont household / servants] 14-7644. Mother received your letter yesterday; she wants to know if you want your dresses from last summer; your laundry things are not finished, but should be next week; will send them then; we put out the plants and vases; the green this year is beautiful; you don't have many trees around your place do you?; Marvin returned Sunday from Detroit; strange the Gillilands haven't called on you; I think they're in NY; Is there only one Methodist Episcopal Church in Orange?; it must be quite different from ours; hope you find a good cook; can't you or TAE find one in the city; why do you need a fourth one, if three do the work well; Pat [who takes care of the horses] got in trouble with a girl, though he denies it, and father had to pay his bail; he'll likely be let go; the little plant TAE brought is "about dead"; glad you're getting along well; TAE must be a big help to you; Will Hawk at the Windsor Hotel might find you a cook.
