Title
[LB012265A], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Charles L Dean, May 10th, 1882
Editor's Notes
I wrote you yesterday that one of our machines [used] in the Commutator & that I would [----] and write. I have found out the trouble and wonder why it is [----] every one of our machines Dont [---] here it is##[art]##This point. [A.] of the Commutator [strip] comes in Contact with the edge at X and of course causes the paper under the bars falls short 1/8 inch of [Coming] to the End. I think this should be changed either by having the papers underneath the [Cover] bars extend to the end of the bars so as to rest on the flange thus##[art]##Or the paper might be short as you have it and a band of mica or paper put around the flange thus##[art]##Plase look out for this or every one of our machines will get crossed - Evidently some one has got to Cutting those paper under the bars short##Logan tells me that the papers are not short on one he took out [missing text?]
