- Your favor of 5th has followed me here where I am now permanently located.##we have one Locomotive here that can pull four cars containing thirty people each at the rate of 20 miles per hour. It takes about 15 horse power. We are now building a single car which will have the motor underneath. It will carry 80 passengers twelve miles per hour & consume about four horse power This is the best thing for the purpose you name as it is better to have plenty of trains cars to carry a few people than to have few trains each carrying a great number of people.##We have three miles of road built now & the whole thing works splendidly
