Title

[LB032039], Letter from John F Randolph to John Hall McClement, August 8th, 1889

Editor's Notes

[laboratory closure] "Mrs. Bradshaw called at this Laboratory today and presented your card with a note on same addressed to Mr. Tate asking him to allow him to go through the Laboratory. ### I am very sorry but I had to refuse her having the pleasure of going through the place but showed her the Phonograph in the Library. ### My reason for doing this is that when Mr. Edison left here for Europe he left instructions that the place should be closed to visitors while he was away and Mr. Batchelor not being here at the time she called I had no one to ask and so was compelled to do what I did. ### In future please get an order from either Mr. Insull or Mr. Batchelor if you send any one out to go through the Laboratory as both Mr. Edison and Mr. Tate are in Europe, and it will save me any trouble and greatly oblige" Yours truly, John. F. Randolph
