- Edison invents apparatus for telegraphing to and from moving trains. Comments on TAE's impending marriage to Mina Miller and makes the bogus claim that ?Ç£Miss Miller first met the great electrician during a visit to this city a year ago [i.e., late February or early March 1885] and their acquaintance was renewed at Chautauqua last summer.?Ç¥ This claim, which has been repeated in several biographies of Edison, has since been debunked by the evidence presented in Volume 8 of TAEB.
